I make baskets and swills mainly in unstripped (various bark colours) and white, home grown willows including anglers' creels, Madeira work baskets, washing flaskets and coffins. My baskets tend to be practical rather than purely decorative and are usually made by traditional English methods.

Based in the Tyne Valley in Northumberland I work with my daughter mainly from home.
Paper craft and in particular origami, represent interests that I have pursued and enjoyed sharing with other folk since I was a youngster.
Many of us can remember simple origami toys from our childhood such as fortune tellers of flapping birds, but when you really get into this craft you discover so many more possibilities.
When I was a youngster I would rush home from school to catch the last ten minutes of Robert Harbin’s Origami programme on the TV. This inspired me to buy books and learn more.

Now working increasingly with my daughter it is our aim to delight people with the many possibilities enfolded by a simple piece of paper. This we do on an informal one to one basis but also by running workshops on request.

My daughter also loves to create original handmade greetings cards.
She is also particularly adept and patient when explaining processes to young and old alike in workshop situations.
